free money to help pay bills

in response to GHLMEPLS...   GHLMEPLS I am all to familier with your situation, I have been dealing with child support issues for 15 years and I too have no mone for a lawyer. My ex has had me in court so many times Im on first name basis with the Judge, I do all my own defending of my rights as a father. I have taken my ex to court one time for the same reason as you stated (she wouldn't let me see my kids) not only was she found in contempt of court but her lawyer was sent before the law review board for misrepresenting herself. So heres what you can do if theres is a divorce decree that covers your visitation rights usually they give you rights for every other weekend and maybe an afternoon during the week if so go to any courthouse and ask the Clerk of the Court for a Prosay motion form and fill it out and submit it if you get told that there is a filling fee tell them that you are indogent and cannot pay the fee then they will swear you in and fill another form for you to not pay the filling fee. Then ask where you can get a form to fill to have an court apointed attorney, since you are already declaired indogent if you get assigned an attorney it will be at no cost to you. But if you don't get an attorney your prosay motion is already filed, when your filling out the prosay form it will have a place for a Motion to or for ? you want to put in for a Motion for Contempt and then it ask's for your reasons put in that she is not following the decreed visitation set by the court. In any state in the US visitation and child support are two seperate issue's and the Federal Government requires the courts to follow certain guidelines for each. also you can ask for help from Child Support Enforcement and ask them toput a hol on your support case because your unemployed.

in response to Chrissyloving...   Chrissyloving, Heres what you do, It is illegal for any electric company to turn off the utilities on a home with Disabled Child or an Elderly person in it. It's apart of the People with Disabilities Act, so all you need to do is take the papers that prove the child is disabled to the electric company and they have to turn the electric back on under the Federal Law and if they still won't turn it on contact any Lawyer that deals with Social Security Disability and sue the electric company for Child Endangerment.

in response to jinxed...   jinxed did you know that since your on Disability that your kids are intitled to get money from Disability and they are intitled to all the same benifits as you, I suggest you contact Social Security they can help you file the nessesary papers, I know this because I did it with my kids and nothing is taken out of the money I get it's a seporate fund that's payable to your kids until age 18. Also they should get money from the time you were approved, my kids got 20,000 dollars back pay and get half of the amoun't I get to split between them each month.

in response to rista1966...   rista I don't know who you spoke with but they weren't very good and I hope you paying them, you need a lawyer that specializes in Social Security Claimes. Even if you don't have enough point's to get full Disability you do always qualify for Suplemental Security Income, you also could claim Disability off your husbands point's if you have been long enough. Also didn't you say eirlier that your husband couldn't work because of an accident if thats true he could possibly claim Disability, Thats why you need a lawyer that does nothing but Social Security they can explain ALL your options any other type of lawyer really won't do a very good job for you. Check with the Social Security Administration in your state they have a list of Lawyer's for you and it doesn't cost anything. In the meantime check with your states Children and Family Services or Social Services they are required by federal mandate to help you in any way possible.

in response to rista1966...   i understand your situation all too well, been there done that kind of thing. Here is how I got my head held high again. First off this is not ment as an insult to anyone, Im just telling you about an insurance policy you have been paying into for all your working life that you can tap into for as long as you need. It is Social Security Disability You will need to get a Disability lawyer, but the best thing is Social Security will pay the lawyer for you out of you settlement so you dont need to worry about a bill. the lawyer will do everthing for you and get you approved, nomatter if your husband or you get approved you kids are approved untill age 18. ask your lawyer to explain how it will go, the further back you can proove disability the more money you'll get in a lump some. I myself got approved last year and got 3 years of back money totaling 32,000 dollars, remember this is not a handout it's something you paid for by working hard all your life.
